Charlotte Trolley volunteers are ambassadors, introducing tourists and residents to Charlotte’s past and present. Paid staff could recount history, point out the sites, sell the tokens – but we aspire to something less scripted and more entertaining. Each volunteer is encouraged to interject his or her own experiences, memories, and interests into the interactions with riders. Volunteers bring freshness, a pride of place and a desire to be helpful that sets us apart. Is an encyclopedic knowledge of history required? Many Charlotte Trolley volunteers do possess a love of history, it’s true. But we’ll give you all the training and background information you’ll need to interact with Charlotte Trolley visitors. You’ll also find that Charlotte Trolley’s "veteran" volunteers are always happy to help! What is expected of Charlotte Trolley volunteers?
